Krom\u011b toho m\u00e1 v\u00e1\u017en\u00e9 zdravotn\u00ed d\u016fsledky, proto\u017ee doly pot\u0159ebuj\u00ed ke sv\u00e9mu provozu velk\u00e9 mno\u017estv\u00ed vody.<\/p>\n<p>Bauxit se pou\u017e\u00edv\u00e1 hlavn\u011b k v\u00fdrob\u011b oxidu hlinit\u00e9ho Bayerov\u00fdm procesem, kter\u00fd lze n\u00e1sledn\u011b vyu\u017e\u00edt pro r\u016fzn\u00e9 aplikace v\u010detn\u011b \u017e\u00e1ruvzdorn\u00fdch materi\u00e1l\u016f a sl\u00e9v\u00e1renstv\u00ed, co\u017e jsou kl\u00ed\u010dov\u00e9 komponenty p\u0159i v\u00fdrob\u011b hlin\u00edku a oceli. Krom\u011b toho bauxit obsahuje zna\u010dn\u00e9 mno\u017estv\u00ed galia, kter\u00e9 se v tomto procesu extrahuje pomoc\u00ed roztok\u016f hydroxidu sodn\u00e9ho - nebo se extrahuje jin\u00fdmi zp\u016fsoby, nap\u0159\u00edklad pomoc\u00ed iontom\u011bni\u010dov\u00fdch prysky\u0159ic.<\/p>\n<p>Zbytky bauxitu lze tak\u00e9 pou\u017e\u00edt jako \u00fa\u010dinnou n\u00e1hradu cementu ve sm\u011bsn\u00fdch cementech, co\u017e zvy\u0161uje jejich pucol\u00e1novou aktivitu i reologick\u00e9 vlastnosti. Studie prok\u00e1zaly, \u017ee v z\u00e1vislosti na slo\u017een\u00ed lze t\u00edmto zbytkem nahradit a\u017e 25%-30% objemu sm\u011bsn\u00e9ho cementu.<\/p>\n<p>Australsk\u00fd bauxitov\u00fd pr\u016fmysl za\u017e\u00edv\u00e1 rychl\u00fd rozvoj a v sou\u010dasn\u00e9 dob\u011b se uva\u017euje o n\u011bkolika projektech. Dv\u011b lo\u017eiska, DL130 a Rubble Flat v severoz\u00e1padn\u00ed Tasm\u00e1nii, byla vybr\u00e1na jako povrchov\u00e9 doly pro t\u011b\u017ebu DSO (deferred stripping ore). Bauxit z\u00edskan\u00fd z tohoto projektu bude vyu\u017e\u00edv\u00e1n v rafin\u00e9ri\u00edch Weipa a Mozal k v\u00fdrob\u011b oxidu hlinit\u00e9ho a tak\u00e9 bude exportov\u00e1n k dal\u0161\u00edmu vyu\u017eit\u00ed po cel\u00e9m sv\u011bt\u011b.
